Spencer Gleason Biography

I first performed as a small child next to my dad during one of his solo gigs on the stage at the old Webster Grill in St. Louis, Missouri, playing a tiny, kid-size plastic guitar, while looking up at him and trying to replicate his motions.
Fast forward nearly three-and-a-half decades, and now I'm playing the guitar for real.
Originally a drummer who can sing, I picked up the guitar on Dec. 2, 2020 and have rarely put it down, expanding my repertoire beyond keeping a beat.
Both of my parents were musicians, and growing up in St. Louis, my mind is full of memories from jam sessions with my mom and dad in our basement. All throughout my childhood, I would to sit-in on drums with my dad's band, Serapis, or on cajón and guitar during my dad's solo gigs — and still do when I'm in St. Louis.
Now based in Seattle, Washington, I've played gigs in both St. Louis and Seattle, as well as Illinois and Ketchikan, Alaska — a little island in Southeast Alaska.
From fairs, festivals and street corners to coffeeshops, bars, wineries and parties, making music is a labor of love, with those that I love.
Solo set lists include a steady diet of covers, with a few originals mixed in the lineup.
