About this concert
Join us on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 7pm at The Theater at North as singing sensation Chris Ruggiero takes his audiences on a journey through the golden age of rock and roll, breathing new life into the timeless music of the 50s, 60s and 70s. At just 24 years old, Chris embodies the essence of an ‘old soul,’ infusing his concert appearances with a timeless charm reminiscent of a bygone era rather than conforming to the norms of his generation’s artists. He first came to national attention when he performed in concert on one of PBS-TV’s coast-to-coast broadcast specials, which still airs to this day. Since then, Chris has been traveling around the country delivering his unique brand of vintage rock and roll and sharing his passion for the classics. He’s shared the stage with some of the most legendary artists in the history of rock and roll and been inspired to carry the torch. What Michael Bublé did for the swing music of the 40s and 50s, Chris Ruggiero does for the pop-rock standards of the 60s and 70s. If there’s any doubt that what he’s doing is resonating with audiences, his Facebook page reached a staggering 63 million people last year. “When I’m on stage singing a classic love song and I look out into the audience and see that twinkle in their eyes, I know they’re thinking about a special time and place in their life – or maybe even their first kiss!” Chris says. “It’s magic.” One of the most important things to Chris is his family, and he considers every audience for whom he performs his family by the end of each show. For Chris, entertaining is not a vocation, it’s a way of life. “Just give me a spotlight and a microphone and tell me what time I go on!”

Chris Ruggiero Biography

Chris Ruggiero takes his audiences on a journey through the golden age of rock and roll, breathing new life into the timeless music of the 1950s, 60s and 70s. Chris has been described as an “old soul” at 24 years old, whose approach to his concert appearances is more in line with that of a bygone era than it is the artists of his generation.

Chris first came to national attention when he performed in concert on one of PBS-TV’s coast-to-coast broadcast specials, which still airs to this day. Since then, Chris has been traveling around the country delivering his unique brand of vintage rock and roll, including sold out shows in Las Vegas, Cleveland, Florida and New York.

Chris has released 5 albums including “I Am Chris Ruggiero” which features original arrangements from legendary arranger Charlie Calello on timeless classics such as “Wouldn’t it Be Nice,” “My Cherie Amour,” “The More I See You” and “This Magic Moment.” Calello has had over 100 national records as an arranger and producer, having worked with Frankie Valli, Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, Neil Diamond and Glen Campbell, to name a few. Chris says, “Charlie is the epitome of musical genius.” Having completed the project, it appears the admiration is now mutual. Calello commented, “It’s been a long time since I heard a voice like this. Chris doesn’t chase the music. He brings the music to him and he does it without vocal tricks. That’s rare today.”

His album, “Quiet Nights,” features only his voice and the masterful pianist Chris Tamburr re-imagining pop-rock classics like "Up on the Roof" and "The Long and Winding Road." Christmas of 2022 was a high point as Chris released his first Christmas album, including a duet with Darlene Love that landed him on the Adult Contemporary charts, on Good Morning America and with features in Rolling Stone and Forbes.

“When I’m on stage singing a classic love song and I look out into the audience and see that twinkle in their eyes, I know they’re thinking about a special time and place in their life - or maybe their first kiss!” Chris says. “It’s magic.“ For Chris, entertaining is not a vocation, it’s a way of life.
