After the success of the State Is Flow monthly jam night at Ninety One Living Room, the artists behind it are switching to a new seasonal live show format. They'll be joined by some incredibly talented friends of the flow, to celebrate their seasonal releases and showcase the artists that make up State Is Flow. Samantha Lindo is a new wave jazz and RnB artist of dual British & Jamaican heritage recently featured on the BBC Sounds Hot List curated by BBC Introducing & 6 Music. Her recent album 'Ancestry' has received support from the likes of Jamie Cullum and Giles Peterson, its lush production and beautiful concept has made the State Is Flow team eager to see it transported to the live stage. Marla Kether is a session bassist, DJ and producer based in London, who has played with the likes of Loyle Carner, Ezra Collective and Ego Ella May. The different strands of her musical career are almost as diverse as her influences; her music features a unique blend of live Latin percussion, Theo Parrish-style groove and driving basslines - her solo EP is out now on Saffron Records. Whether behind the decks or bass in hand, at State is Flow, we think Marla is one of the most exciting UK talents. State Is Flow, led by Toby Corton and Maverick Quest, is the coming together of a group of artists working in Neo-Soul and Jazz, RnB and Hip-Hop. Based out of their Clerkenwell space, they're recording, writing and developing live shows, with collaboration at the heart of what they do. On the quiet they've been, working and performing with some of the best talent in the scene right now, and for 2024 they're stepping out with releases, a collective live show and looking to make some noise.
