Guitar Player Magazine presents the Second Annual Papa Mali Polyester Birthday Bash, A New Orleans Tribute to David Lindley! Featuring Lindley’s longtime drummer, percussionist, recording and touring partner, Wally Ingram, along with Alvin Youngblood Hart, the Iguanas, Ed Williams of The Revivalists, Marc Stone, carolyn wonderland, Liza Aratow, Dave Easley, Casandra Faulconer, Jeff Plankenhorn, Jimmy Leslie, Roddie Romero, Layla Musselwhite and more special guests tba, all performing the music of the late, great maestro of the lap steel slide guitar, oud, saz, violin and all-round, multi-instrumentalist, virtuoso sideman, bandleader and solo artist (not to mention, snazzy dresser), David Lindley! All of this great music and fun takes place on the last night of Jazzfest, Sunday, May 5, from 10:30pm until 1am (I turn 67 at midnight) at New Orleans’ historic nightclub, the new and improved Chickie Wah Wah.
