Hailed as 'Australia’s hottest up-and-coming blues and roots rockers' by Beat Mag, Smoke Stack Rhino are bringing their high energy live show back to Tumut for a special one-off event to kick in the Cider Fest weekend… Bluesed Apples! They’ve been tearing it up around Australia. Their album ‘The Mojo Funk’ hit #2 on the ARIA Blues & Jazz chart and they’ve delivered their high-energy, feel good live show at leading festivals like Bridgetown Blues Festival, Echuca Winter Blues, Moruya Blues & Roots and many more. Now they’re in NSW to bring the mojo back, launching their new EP at Tumut River Brewing Company on Fri 17 May.

Smoke Stack Rhino Biography
Smoke Stack Rhino have been hailed as ‘Australia’s most exciting up-and-coming blues and roots rockers’ (Beat). Featuring a band-name that’s just one heavy animal away from the blues*, this trio from the Yarra Valley near Melbourne are wowing crowds around Australia. In the last 12 months they’ve appeared at festivals like Blues at Bridgetown, Moruya Blues and Roots, St Kilda Blues, Healesville Music Festival and more. They’ve found airplay on triple J and Triple M, ran Rock The Valley Music Festival and placed on Spotify playlists.
New album The Mojo Funk sees the group claim a sound of their own which they call… ‘The Mojo Funk’. The first of two albums recorded by long-time friend Beau McKee and mixed by Ocean Alley’s producer Callum Howell, the record is ‘a high energy, semi-psychedelic montage of funky blues rock that’s sure to get your mojo back’.
Meanwhile, on stage, the band’s electric live show reaches new heights. Singer-guitarist Ash King is a whirlwind with resonator guitar in hand, his earthy vocals reaching from deep lows to highs, drummer Matty Berg pushes the band forward from behind the kit and bassist Shane Andison stays rock solid, holding the whole thing together with an infectious, catchy groove.
With The Mojo Funk released on Friday May 19 on vinyl, CD and online, Smoke Stack Rhino are on the rise and are well and truly here to bring the mojo back.
