Jaimey Hamilton Biography
Combining pop and country into her melodies, Jaimey Hamilton brings an emotional aesthetic to her artistry as she emerges from the Canadian Country music scene. With influences such as Hailey Whitters, Miranda Lambert and Carly Pearce, the Vancouver Island born singer/songwriter brings raw lyricism and vivid life experiences in her storytelling.
Hamilton's current single "Stompin' Ground", is a chill, nostalgic summer ode to the little things in life and the joy that comes from a great country song on a sunny day. Alongside Juno-nominated co-writer Scotty Hills, Jaimey offers a country-pop vibe with catchy guitar riffs, smooth, uplifting pedal steel accents, and a singer-songwriter's touch. Hamilton released an Official Music Video shot on Cowichan Lake - her “Stompin’ Ground”, which has surpassed 1,000 views on Youtube.
At the age of nine, Hamilton began to play the guitar and soon after began writing songs. It quickly became her healing outlet. The three time cancer survivor endured a bone marrow transplant at the age of 12 and has been immersed in making music ever since. “It was the one thing that was always there for me and kept me inspired” says Hamilton.
In August, her story and new single, “Stompin’ Ground” gained notable recognition as her interview aired across the country on CTV National News.
Hamilton has immersed herself in her artistry and in the local music scene. In October (2022) she shared the stage with Aaron Pritchett and George Canyon at a local BC Cancer Fundrasier. She has played notable stages around Victoria, BC including The Duke Saloon, Darcy's Pub Downtown and had two shows this summer at Sunfest Country Music Festival in the Cowichan Valley. Here, she shared the stage with fellow country artists, Alli Walker & Tony Stevens at the BCCMA Nashville Afternoons as well as a solo set on the LakeNight Stage which gained her a story in the Times Colonist.
Jaimey continues to perform around her hometown of Victoria. Be sure to connect with Jaimey on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and Bandsintown.
