Attack Goose Biography
Attack Goose 🤘🪿 first formed in 1992 as a heavy, four piece project featuring members of softer-sounding Sydney indie acts such as The Sugar Rays and Pope’s Habit.
With the departure of bassist Peter Burke in 1993, then-guitarist Pete Smart took over the bottom-end duties and Attack Goose continued as a three-piece. They played popular Sydney 90s venues like the Sandringham Hotel, Manning Bar, Evil Star, Hopetoun and many more.
After a particularly fun but disheveled performance at Surry Hills’ Bat and Ball, the band took a short 30-year break.

Cut to 2023, and with original members Luke Chess and Jason Paulos now living in the Blue Mountains west of Sydney, the band has re-formed — recruiting John O’Brien (ex Mammoth) for bass duties after the unfortunate passing of Pete Smart. They’ve regenerated their ‘93 set list, a bunch of those songs relearned from an old Victoria on the Park desk recording. They’re also writing furiously, adding new original material to their repertoire by the month.
The fully-rebuilt Attack Goose played their first 21st century gig at the Tates Hotel in Windsor in October ‘23 and is now reporting for duty to you. They’re willing and ready to assault your eardrums with riff-driven goodness.
