Cape Smokey is thrilled to announce that Elyse Aeryn will headline Smokey Sessions: Summer’s End Bash! What amazing way to wrap up a Cape Breton summer - on the hill in Ingonish with a wonderful day of music, led by one of the rising stars in Maritime music.
Glace Bay singer-songwriter Elyse Aeryn’s unique brand of music combines the story-telling of country with the energy and driving rhythms of rock’n’roll. She recently won the Music Nova Scotia Award for Country Recording of the Year for her album Joy State Of Mind and followed that up by winning the chance to perform at The Juno Awards Junofest in Halifax in March, 2024. You might say she’s been on a bit of a roll lately!
Set against the backdrop of the Cape Breton Highlands, Cape Smokey provides a natural amphitheatre with phenomenal sound - you won’t want to miss this very special event. As winter continues, watch as we add more great acts to this concert. This will be the third season for Smokey Sessions and it is exciting to see how it continues to evolve and grow. The 2024 season will be the most ambitious to date, so watch for several more exciting announcements in the coming weeks.

Singer-songwriter Elyse Aeryn is known for her fiery and rebellious rock and roll. Her bluesy melodies paired with her bold, warm voice make for an authentic and ageless sound.
For Elyse, a lifelong writer, the words and stories come first. She pens lyrics that tell the truth about her own life in the hope they will illuminate the truth in someone else’s. Hard knocks, dead ends, new beginnings - Elyse writes with heart about the stuff of life. You can practically taste the inner strength and resilience in her music. Its gritty and passionate and real.
After a decade in the corporate world, music called for a bigger part in Elyse’s life and she’s answering that call with all she’s got. From supporting names like Amanda Marshall, Blue Rodeo, and Matt Andersen, to being named one of five JUNO Wavemaker Ambassadors for the 2024 JUNOs in Halifax, Elyse is making a name for herself with her dynamic, high-energy live show.
Her debut album “Joy State of Mind” won Music Nova Scotia’s 2023 Country Recording of the Year and is currently nominated for a 2024 East Coast Music Award for Rock Recording of the Year.
