In a celebration of International Piano Day (the 88th day of the year), join pianist and composer Steve Luck, along with the innovative Ieva Dubova, for an evening of captivating piano performances in the historic 36 Lime Street building in the heart of the Ouseburn. The event, set for March 28th, promises an unforgettable experience and offers attendees the chance to savour the distinct artistry of both performers, each taking their turn to perform a carefully curated selection of original pieces. With an extremely limited number of seats available in this exclusive setting, patrons are invited to secure their tickets promptly for an evening that promises to be nothing short of magical.
Ieva Dubova is an award-winning pianist and composer known for her experimental, new age approach to classical music, performance and collaborative work. Originally from Cesis, now based in Newcastle Upon Tyne, Ieva Dubova is a graduate of Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance under the tutelage of Alexander Ardakov(performance) and Newcastle University MMus (composition) under the supervision of Rob Mackay.
Ieva has performed across Europe, held multiple radio appearances, and collaborated with artists from multiple disciplines. Her recent works have been featured on BBC Introducing and BBC Sounds as well as on Radio Resonance and Exhale FM. Her latest collection of Piano Preludes has also been Premiered in Germany by noted concert pianist Anna Heller as part of Moving Classics TV programme - Composer of the Week.
Steve Luck is an award winning composer from Newcastle Upon Tyne. His solo piano compositions primarily explore the nuances of the modern classical genre, with a focus on creating intimate and emotive piano pieces. There is a quiet and introspective quality to his performances. Sunderland Echo said recently “Steve’s subtle but emotive embrace of the instrument sees him conjure a world of moonlit rainbows, awakenings and new beginnings… modern classical piano miniatures that explore the delicate interplay between melancholy and hope, forming an engaging body of work which is both contemplative and uplifting.” Steve's music has been streamed on Spotify more than 2.5 million times and is broadcast regularly on TV and radio around the world. At the end of 2023 he released his third album of piano solos called 'Be Curious'

Steve Luck Biography
Steve Luck is an experienced and award-winning composer and pianist hailing from Newcastle upon Tyne in the UK. He has beguiled live audiences with his introspective and emotive compositions.
As a media composer Steve has worked on more than one hundred projects including shorts, TV shows, animations and feature films. In 2007 he won two awards from the Royal Television Society for Professional Excellence in Music. His work with production music libraries results in regular use of his music on TV shows across the world.
Since debuting his solo piano music in 2014, Steve has released one full length album, three EPs and seven singles, each displaying his ability to effortlessly weave together intricate musical narratives that captivate and engage the listener.
His latest single release, Bloom garnered praise from critics. Popular music blog Last Day Deaf said “Listening to this 3-minute treasure, what immediately stands out is the sheer amount of emotion it evokes, along with its tranquil and peaceful character.”
Steve’s modern classical piano miniatures explore the delicate interplay between melancholy and hope, forming an engaging body of work which is both contemplative and uplifting.
His pieces have featured on several large Spotify playlists, including the editorial playlist Early Morning by Spotify as well as Relaxing Piano by Double J and Neoclassical New Releases by Andante Piano. Steve is eager to continue expanding his reach and influence within the platform.
The pieces also receive regular support from BBC Radio 3 as well as regional stations and BBC Sounds playlists.
In addition to his work as a recording artist and composer, Steve is also an active within the music community, advocating on behalf of fellow composers. He is a long-standing member of the music writers committee of the Musicians Union and the founder of the Guild of Northern Media Composers. He believes that music has the power to bring people together and is committed to using his talents to create a positive impact.
