Todd Mathis Biography
For the past 20 years, Todd Mathis has been a solid fixture of the South Carolina music scene, and well beyond, playing in a number of groups from the indie soul of Betty Sneetch to the Brit-tinged rock of Boxing Day (Universal/Republic), fronting the alt-country turned rock of American Gun, and crafting the soundscapes of Interruptions of the Mind…and releasing a few solo albums along the way.
Todd Mathis is a Columbia treasure. From his early work with American Gun to his reflective and adventurous Americana as a solo artist and recent forays into the experimental Interruptions of the Mind. Live, Mathis’ earnest songs are filled out with a tight band, melding Oasis’ low end with Pete Yorn-ish guitars.
