HAAL Biography

Combining elements of post-rock, metal, trip-hop and industrial noise, Bristol’s HAAL have quickly become cult favourites in the UK live scene.

Their psychotropic blend of sampling, DIY home-crafted pedals, monolithic instrumentation and immersive live visuals has seen the band play and tour alongside the likes of Deliluh, Butch Kassidy, Famous, DITZ, Treeboy & Arc and Water From Your Eyes, as well as appearing at festivals such as ArcTanGent, Dot To Dot, Wanderlust & many more.

Coming off the heels of their recent singles ‘Janus’ and ‘Judy’ (and subsequent remixes by Water From Your Eyes & Crimewave), the band’s debut EP ‘Back To Shilmarine’ arrives as a blistering snapshot of the band's protean dynamism.

Praise for the EP from publications and blogs such as Total Guitar Magazine, CVLT Nation & OutsideNoise444 demonstrate their craft, whilst radio-play and playlisting from BBC Radio 6’s Jamz Supernova and Nabihah Iqbal showcases their ability to pique interest from tastemakers far and wide.

‘Back To Shilmarine’ celebrates the culmination of all of their influences, exploring themes of cosmic revelation and despair, all whilst set to an uninhibited maelstrom of sound spanning everything from intricate math-infected guitar lines to pensive vocals and propulsive drumming to totemic riffing, all rounded off with synth-sponsored eeriness and intrigue.
