About this concert
A significant musical project, Black Lives breathes life into the cultural heritage of Afro-descendant communities by bringing together a mix of musical influences from the African diaspora. The collective has formed around a common desire, to combat racism through music, and brings together artists from diverse genres such as jazz, blues, funk, and gospel. Led by the New York vocalist Catherine Russel and the singer, composer, and guitarist Raul Midón, the impressive ensemble will feature no fewer than thirteen instrumentalists who will pulsate the Chapiteau stage with vibrant compositions imbued with a message of equality, freedom, and justice.
