About this concert
The Hay Festival programme is published...
Everybody's wading through the hundreds of events listed, with a Spice Girl next to Bonnie Tyler next to the Poet Laureate next to Julian Clary next to Stephen Fry (of course) next to Rod Stewart (no, sorry - Rory, the ex-MP)...
But, rising through all those, there's your favourite landlocked mariners.
Come and find us at event 314 and 318, Saturday 1st June, 2pm and 3.30pm, outside the bookshop. You don't even need to fight for tickets - it's free to just drop in!

Hay Shantymen Biography
A rollicking bunch of land lubbers from the east coast of Wales.
Our roots might be on the banks of the river near Hay-on-Wye but the Hay Shantymen have travelled countrywide, singing traditional shanties and other foot-stomping seafaring songs in seaside pubs and at summer festivals. Among our recent highlights are The Hay Festival, both Falmouth and Bristol Shanty Festivals, and Latitude.
Hay Shantymen was founded in 2016 by Fiona Evans and continues under the expert musical leadership of Grant Olding.
We are united by strong friendships, a love of singing, the sea and good beer - not necessarily in that order.
If you have seen Hay Shantymen live, you will be aware that we take our fundraising very seriously. To date we have raised over £10,000 for our chosen charity the RNLI.
