About this concert
Experience Klingra: An Evening of Atmospheric Music from the Faroe Islands On December 3rd, 2024, the award-winning Faroese ensemble Klingra presents a unique concert experience to celebrate the launch of their new coffee table book and the vinyl edition of their acclaimed album, "...eftir". Known for their profound fusion of post-rock, classical music, and electronic elements, Klingra transcends traditional concert experiences. At Koncertkirken, Klingra invites the audience into an atmospheric, indie-classical universe enriched with stunning visuals for a comprehensive concert experience. Klingra's musical universe draws inspiration from the insightful and emotionally charged stories of Færingehavn in Greenland, aiming to offer listeners a sanctuary amidst the bustle of daily life. Performed by the band's seven distinguished musicians, including Mikael Blak, known for his work with Eivør, and Maggie Björklund, a former member of Jack White's band, their collective talent and musicality promise an evening of enchantment. Klingra describes their style as "indie-classical" - a genre exploring extended, cohesive sound segments with profound narrative depth. The music and composition are collaboratively crafted by Dánjal á Neystabø, primarily responsible for the lyrics, and Kim Nyberg, focusing on the music. Nyberg, also the lead in the DMA and Carl Pris-winning orchestra Afenginn, has mastered the art of extending time, creating patterns and repetitions that induce a state of calm while engaging the listener. On December 3rd, the audience will have a rare opportunity to immerse themselves in Klingra's atmospheric soundscapes and be among the first to acquire the new book and their award-winning album “...eftir” on vinyl. “Eftir” not only translates to “after” in Danish but also conveys being left behind: ... left behind on the quay as the boats departed for Greenland ... left behind on the ice as the coffins were carried away ... left behind when you have lost ... left behind as the remnants at Færingehavn today For tickets and further details, please visit www.klingra.net. This will be an unforgettable evening that can be both heard and felt, leaving a lasting impression on all attendees. Klingra consists of: Dánjal á Neystabø: piano, keys, vocals Kim Rafael Nyberg: keys, piano, vocals Heðin Ziska Davidsen: electronics, synths, guitar Maggie Björklund: pedal steel guitar Mikael Blak: bass, synths, electronics Knut Finsrud: drums, percussion Roma Komar: sound, trumpet http://www.klingra.net http://www.facebook.com/klingra http://www.instagram.com/klingraband https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5mOFTXF1WC-FREbSQ8nQZw
