Stav Goldberg Biography

Stav Goldberg is a composer, pianist, and performing musician.

He is known for his outstanding solo and band performances showcasing his original compositions, as well as his first album “Songs” (2020) which he composed and produced, and which gained over half a million Spotify streams and countless praises in the media and on Israel radio.

In addition to solo and band performances, he tours internationally with Orka, a world-renowned singer. His sound has been described as an incarnation of beauty and flow in music. Earlier this year, he released the jazz instrumental single, “Happiness”, which instantly made it into the official Spotify playlist “Happy Jazz” and has gained over 70,000 streams. Stav is signed as a composer with Artlist which will release his piano solo EP in November of 2022.

Goldberg’s musical search has led him to his upcoming album “Symphony of Water”. The album expands and breaks the familiar musical boundaries, yet does so gently while maintaining the grace, naturalness, and pleasantness of the music. Inspired by the sounds of nature, and the idea of beauty within chaos, Goldberg and his band are relinquishing the rules of making music to create authentic, human beauty.

Stav Goldberg was born on September 3, 1996, in Jerusalem, Israel. He showed a deep connection to music since age three and began to study classical piano when he was seven years old. Six years later, he began studying composition with the late Israeli composer, André Hajdu.

Having displayed great talent and diligence, he was accepted to the Jerusalem Academy High School of Music and Dance while also studying with jazz pianist Omri Mor.

Upon finishing high school, he was chosen to play as a side man with several working bands, including the Daniel Zamir Project and the Yogev Shetrit Trio at Jazz concerts and festivals worldwide (Panama Jazz Fest, Kennedy Center, New Delhi Jazz Fest, etc)

In 2018, Stav was granted a full merit scholarship to attend the New School University in New York City where he completed his BFA. While studying there he was sent to represent the university and perform at Bern Jazz Fest, and Panama Jazz Fest.

He graduated with honors, receiving the John and Alice Coltrane award.
