About this concert
Fifty years ago, four New York teenagers in torn jeans and leather jackets formed a band and called themselves The Ramones, their brutally fast and simple music becoming the most important precursor to, and influence on, punk.
In this special anniversary concert in the heart of Leeds, Commoners Choir and West Yorkshire Symphony Orchestra team up to present a selection of specially-arranged Ramones anthems along with their own songs and pieces.
Come along and hear unique choral and symphonic versions of Blitzkreig Bop, I Wanna Be Sedated and others!

Commoners Choir Biography
WE ARE A STRANGE YET OPEN AND INCLUSIVE CHOIR THAT MEETS IN LEEDS. WE COME FROM ALL OVER THE PLACE, AND TRY TO ACT MORE LIKE A BAND OR A GANG THAN A CHOIR.
WE SING OUR OWN SONGS, ABOUT THE WORLD IMMEDIATELY AROUND US, ABOUT INEQUALITY, HOPE, AND TORY POLITICIANS.
