Cutflowers Biography
It was in the summer of 2019 when Kai Wilks (singer/songwriter) started playing with Max Tuffnell (lead-guitar), George Kassell (drums) and later Charles Palmer (bass). Friends since early teenagehood, they forged their uniquely melodic sound amidst lockdowns, releasing a number of singles while writing hundreds more.
Four years of this has culminated in their 2023 debut album a collection of 8 tracks that reveal the band’s dedication to crafting a tapestry of sound that is both immersive and emotive - an invitation to lean in closer. After years of imagining and re-imagining, Cutflowers’ 'ok in (the end)’ stretches the conventions of alternative pop, blending their artisan songwriting, unforgiving atmosphere and air-tight production - without ever losing the emotional thread. Whether it be the carnival ride of a song or the shimmering lyrical and sonic intricacies of , each track - in some way - goes straight to the heart.
With 'ok in (the end)’, Cutflowers arrives with a message; a promise to life and its uncertainties - and a reason to embrace it all.
