Testi, grinta, empatia oltre all’eccezionale timbro e estensione della voce fanno di Sari Schorr una nuova star indiscussa del Blues Rock internazionale.
Il successo di Sari del resto arriva dopo una lunga gavetta che ne ha fatto una vera “Blues Woman”.
Inizia l’attività musicale nel South Bronx di New York e nel Lower East Side di Manhattan, ispirandosi alle grandi donne della storia del Blues: Bessie Smith, Ma Rainey, Janis Joplin Tina Turner. Un inizio artistico in una realtà dura e difficile dove il successo poteva sembrare una meta impossibile: “Quando ho iniziato, c’erano spettacoli in cui la mia band era più numerosa del pubblico. Ma dai il massimo e non dimentichi mai che, qualunque cosa accada, è un privilegio fare musica “, racconta Sari in una sua intervista.
La svolta arriva nel 2016 con il suo album di debutto dal titolo che dice tutto: “A Force of Nature”, un disco prodotto da un grande nome del blues britannico, Mike Vernon (David Bowie, Eric Clapton, John Mayall, Fleetwood Mac, Peter Green). In questo CD Sari ha avuto l’onore di avere ospiti chitarristi del calibro di Walter Trout, Innes Sibun e Oli Brown. Accompagnata proprio da Walter Trout nel 2017 Sari ha condotto una lunga ed entusiasmante tournee in tutta la Gran Bretagna e in Europa.
Il suo secondo album, Never Say Never realizzato nel 2018, proprio per ribadire l’energia della sua musica, Sari ha voluto che fosse registrato dal vivo. Un CD che ne ha confermato il successo tanto da permetterle di calcare i più prestigiosi palchi statunitensi ed europei come quello della Carnegie Hall e dei maggiori festival. Il nome di Sari Schorr inoltre è stato incluso nella lista della “New York Blues Hall of Fame”.
Nel corso del biennio 2018 e 2019 prima della pandemia, Sari ha realizzato un numero importante di concerti e nel corso del tour 2019 da alcuni concerti tenuti in Svizzera e Gran Bretagna è stato tratto l’album “Sari Schorr-Live in Europe“ pubblicato nel corso del 2020.

One of the most affecting voices of the 21st century, Sari Schorr’s position at the forefront of the new blues rock revolution is undisputed. With a five-octave range and a diverse vocal skill set Sari’s voice contains the right combination of Robert Plant-style vocals and Dusty Springfield’s sultry warmth that beautifully highlights the softer side of Schorr’s vocal wheelhouse. With a downright phenomenal voice and a bucketful of attitude, the singer and songwriter has been playing to packed houses across the UK and Europe since the release of her ground-breaking debut album, A Force of Nature produced by the legendary producer Mike Vernon.
Sari's latest recording ‘Joyful Sky’ is an album collaboration with legendary guitarist Robin Trower. Released in 2023, the album soared to #1 on the Billboard Blues Chart.
Born in Queen’s New York, Sari began her craft working the music scene in the South Bronx and on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Her rise has seen her performing at Carnegie Hall, selling-out concert halls Europe and headlining festivals internationally. Always travelling, Sari’s home is her suitcase – and her simple life-affirming vocation to perform and interact with audiences spans continents and cultures as her music stands as a universal language for positivity, hope and inclusion.
A creative force of nature through music, photography and the written word, Sari’s world is a place of resilience and tenacity. Sari is a firm believer in the enduring power of the human condition to overcome any obstacle – and for music to be the force for unity.
