About this concert
After spending the weekend at a gig across the pond at the Battlefield Bluegrass Festival in Naseby, England, UK, the Hosmer Mountain Boys will be trying to cure their jet lag by performing at the Lily P's Fried Chicken! West Virginia mandolin player, Silas Powell, will still be in town and is a special guest of the Hosmer Mountain Boys tonight!
Every week on Tuesday night, Lily P's Fried Chicken & Oysters in Kendall Square in Cambridge serves as home to one of the most successful bluegrass nights in the country. Bluegrass Tuesdays fill both the restaurant and bar with bluegrass music from early in the evening until closing time. The stage features some of the best musicians from the area and beyond. The stage schedule officially gets started with the 7 pm Opening Set, followed by the 8 pm Feature Band, and then Steve & Eric's Third Set Jam:
• 7 pm Opening Set from 7 until 7:45 pm
• 8 pm Feature Band from 8 until 9 pm
• Steve & Eric's Third Set Jam from 9:15 pm until closing time

Hosmer Mountain Boys Biography
Simon Brogie, banjo player, was born near the bottom of the Hosmer Mountain in Willimantic not long ago, and has been described by some attendees at the Thomas Point Beach Bluegrass Festival in Brunswick, ME, as Connecticut's best kept secret. He's been playing bluegrass music since a child, but has only recently been making the bluegrass scene. He's about as authentic as you can get to the coveted Scruggs-style banjo playing. He and his buddy Keegan Day, guitar/ vocals, have a strong sense of how bluegrass music was played before the 1960s and it comes across as genuine and true to style of the likes of Flatt & Scruggs. The band is rounded out by Cathy Day and Tom Bowman on fiddle, and upright bass, respectively.
