About this concert
The Berlin-based Dublin native, known for her versatile style spanning soul, jazz, rhythm & blues and opera, embarks on an album tour of intimate venues across Germany. Accompanied by Berlin-based musicians, she will perform stripped-back arrangements of tracks from her debut album 'January Skies', which include Jazz FM UK's 'Breakfast Track of the Week' 'My Mama Told Me' and songs from her EP Melodramas. She will also present some classics that have influenced her own writing and new, soon-to-be-recorded original material. Drawing inspiration from 60s/70s songwriting and 90s trip-hop, the album, co-written with Australian film composer Michael Edwards
(Game of Thrones Soundtrack), explores themes of purpose, patriarchy, rites of passage, lost faith, fate, missed opportunities, and fantasy versus reality. A seasoned opera performer, she has sung solo at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden and Deutsche Oper Berlin.

-Michelle Daly infuses the essence of classic R&B and soul into a modern context, creating a track that is as timeless as it is contemporary. This Berlin-based, Irish singer-songwriter channels the greats of yesteryears, bringing to mind the likes of Lisa Stansfield, yet her style remains distinctly her own -B-Side Guys
- BBC Radio 2-friendly Mark Ronson-esque funk-pop with a jazzual swing – Thomas H Green – The Arts Desk
- Honey-toned - The Guardian
- Michelle has that weathered soulful voice that captivates you from that first note. While harkening back to the days of Motown and the Detroit OG soul scene, Michelle takes that and makes it her own and relevant for today’s music. -Jammerzine
- A whiff of a classy James Bond theme song here with hints of a retro-fuelled Tarantino soundtrack” - Tony Clayton-Lea, The Irish Times
