Diesmal zu Gast in Berlins No.1 Soul Club: die Angels Of Libra ... ein internationales Soul-Kollektiv aus Hamburg mit einer hohen Affinität zu analogen Aufnahmetechniken, 60er-Jahre-Soul-Revue-Konzepten und Filmmusik. Die Geschichte der Band beginnt in einem dänischen Ferienhaus, in dem sich die Hamburger Musiker Dennis Rux (Produzent/Gitarre), Chris Haertel (Keyboard), David Nesselhauf (Bass) und Lucas Kochbeck (Schlagzeug) zwei Wochen lang zurückgezogen und Instrumentalsongs auf einem 8-Spur-Tonbandgerät von 1980 aufgenommen haben. Mittlerweile ist die Band regelmäßig Teil des Programms auf BBC 6 famoser Craig Charles Funk & Soul Show.
Das Hamburger Soul Kollektiv sind „der Beweis für die Lebendigkeit des Souls und arbeiten unentwegt für ihren Traum moderner Soul-Musik.“
Am 15.03. spielen sie eine ihrer großen Soul-Shows im Berliner Privatclub, bei der es neben den bekannten Songs mit Nathan Johnston, auch einiges aus ihrem neuen Album zu hören geben wird.
Nach dem Konzert geht es weiter mit dem legendären Hip City Soul Club, mit dem besten in RARE, early, MoToWn, Northern Soul und mOd R&B ! An den Decks Marc Forrest & Special Guest DJ Sören Glutamat (Soul Station).

Sion Hill Biography
After 6 years performing under his stage name with soul-pop project 'Sion Hill,' and touring Europe with the likes of Pete Doherty, A-ha and Alice Merton along with sold out shows across Germany, the U.K. and Ireland, Johnston bought back the rights to new songs from his former record label and has now gone independent.
After meeting Hamburg based soul band, 'Angels of Libra' in 2020, the band teamed up to release their first LP - 'Nathan Johnston & the Angels of Libra' (2022.)
The first single off the album is the moody and seductive “Angel Of Libra” which was released on June 3rd 2022 with Berlin-based label Waterfall Records, and received heavy airplay on Radio Eins (Radio 1) in Germany.
The second single, 'All Your Love' was released on August 26th, a groovy uptempo soul track featuring vocals reminiscent of Anderson Paak. The band received its first U.K. airplay when the song debuted on BBC Radio 6 on the Craig Charles Funk & Soul Show. ‘All Your Love’ achieved significant playlisting success on spotify along with heavy rotation on Italian radio Contatto for 4 weeks in a row.
The full 10 track record, 'Nathan Johnston & The Angels of Libra' is was released on November 4th, 2022. and is available on limited edition vinyl online from selected stores.
The band have since gone on to release two more albums - 'Revelations' (2023) and 'Maiiah & The Angels of Libra' (2023) with a brand new record set for release later this year.
In March/April 2024, The Angels of Libra will tour Europe on their 'Back to Basics Tour' with Johnston on vocals and a collection of guest musicians appearing on various stages along the way.
