Here's a blurb about this unmissable show: ANNA WEATHERUP X AMY VEE on their 2024 Reprise Tour Amy Vee and Anna Weatherup joined forces in 2023 upon the realising the synergy of their stories – both hard-working and fiercely independent female singer-songwriters from the Hunter region; both having released brand new albums; both having endured a long and challenging path in the music industry since a young age. Anna and Amy have both forged notable music careers over the last decade. Anna Weatherup is perhaps best known for turning all four chairs on The Voice in its second season, with her audition garnering over 1.2M views on YouTube. However, since that time, Anna has worked tirelessly to shape a truly unique and engaging creative identity, gathering a loyal community of followers via her many live shows and, during lockdowns, via livestreaming on Twitch. Anna’s long-awaited album Crossing the Sea was released in 2023, with singles making waves on the iTunes charts and garnering over 100k streams on Spotify. Anna followed by with a stripped-back live version of the album, made for vinyl, in late 2023. Amy Vee is an established and award-winning songwriter and performer with extensive touring experience in Australia and internationally. Amy has moonlighted as band member for other artists including Australian music legends Jon English and Tim Freedman, Sydney musicians collective The Album Show, and The Rock Show featuring Steve Mulry, all while building a solo career, opening for touring acts such as Luka Bloom, Passenger, Newton Faulkner, and Mark Seymour. Her award-winning self-penned body of work includes two solo studio albums, an EP, and several singles. Her latest offering, Live at Lizottes, was recorded in her hometown at the iconic venue, with a 6-piece band, leading Australian music journalist Stuart Coupe to proclaim it “stunning, powerful and emotive”. Vee and Weatherup set about a 16-date tour in 2023, focussing on intimate, listening venues where both artists could connect more personally with audiences. “In our early conversations we worked out that we’re both really keen on the idea of giving people an experience,” said Weatherup. “People consume music in a really distracted way these days… I guess we’re trying to encourage audiences to allow themselves to be immersed in the moment. That’s why we’re keeping the shows small and intimate. We want to create a bit of shared magic,” she added. While the previous tour focussed on solo performances and a few special onstage moments together, the 2024 tour will also include full band shows.Audiences can expect to be enchanted by these two accomplished and captivating artists.

Anna Weatherup Biography

Anna Weatherup first came to the public’s attention via The Voice, Australia. For many artists, the effects of such an experience can be overwhelmingly positive, and for others, it leads them down that strange road of reflection and career recalibration; which can be equally positive, if not more so.

Anna Weatherup has no doubt gone through such a period and the results of these inner travels are evocatively defined in her new single's Little Bluebird, Passenger and Anna's recent release, The River. Taken from her forthcoming album Crossing the Sea, which will be release in early March 2023, the alt-pop rock gems, are an expansive aural interpretation of struggle and fortitude, with Anna’s persuasive vocal performance at the helm. Little Bluebird has also been described as "inviting and introspective, haunting and comfortable, with alt-country leanings, Little Bluebird’s origins are as honest and engaging as the song itself".

Anna's new work is an exploration of self-belief, renewal, and positivity concealed amid the tumbling rhythms of fiery guitar lines and ecclesiastical background vocals. And the direct fearless nature of the lyrics are a darker element which is much harder to define; a kind of teeming force that propels this track forward without dragging it into the dust of indifference and defeat.
