Jared McCloud Biography

Jared McCloud's natural, earthy tone and thought provoking lyrics showcase his talent and ability to draw audinces into his story. Starting his musical career in "Hard Rock/Metal" bands, Jared decided to focus more on the substance rather than flash and went solo. He released a self produced record while playing wherever he could to promote it. Honing his craft in small venues and coffee houses alike, McCloud grew his fanbase the old-fashioned way and wowed large music halls with his live performances.

A mix of influences from Tom Waits to Chris Whitley, Springsteen to Motown, crowds started to take notice of McCloud and his unique brand of songwriting. In 2008 Jared began recording a new collection of songs in a different direction than those of his hard rock past. In May of 2009 he released his indie label debut "Romance Of The Atlantic”, and it was immediately embraced by fans and critics alike. McCloud found success on national and college radio, as well as gained attention from national critics and secured endorsement deals from Alvarez guitars, SIT strings, Porchboard, Trophy straps, Steve Clayton pics, and Corona. McCloud began actively touring across the country and starting building a national fanbase. In early 2011, he release “Painful Words Of Loving Grace”, a collection of songs that told stories from Jared’s personal life to his family’s past. Produced by Jason Rubal (Dresden Dolls, Bitter Ruin), the record was met with great praise from critics, taking 4 and 5 star reviews from many music websites and publications. Not one to rest for too long, Jared hit the road once more, securing spots on national tours with acts like Zach Myers of Shinedown, Ingram Hill, Ernie Halter as well as sharing stages with Candlebox, Soul Asylum, Vertical Horizon, Griffin House, Meat Puppets, Brendan James, Tony Lucca, Sam Grow, and Civil Twilight.

During all of this touring, McCloud started to write songs dealing with the struggle of his failing marriage, and following a bitter divorce, launched a very successful Kickstarter campaign to successfully “crowd-fund” a new record. Recorded with Dave Pittenger (Matt Duke), “To Live And Die In Your Arms” is a collection of McCloud’s most personal songs yet. The record landed him a deal with Noble Steed Music and was released to rave reviews. This was also McClouds first record to chart- debuting at #192 and hitting #46 on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter Top 200.
