Cockrell's Cozy Concert Series present Jake McVay. Puyallup-based Americana Singer/songwriter Jake McVay will be playing originals and some favorite cover songs. After 15 years of fronting the rock band, The Reaching, Jake is doing some solo work again. Rock, Pop, Folk, Gospel, Acoustic... Blend it all together. A little James Taylor, Doobie Brothers, Rich Mullins, Def Leppard, Tears for Fears, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Counting Crows, The Imperials, Sam Cooke, U2 and Garth Brooks are just a fraction of influences you might describe in Jake's music. Songs are a way to say what the heart and soul may have a hard time speaking in a conversation. Jake's music strives to make those kinds of connections.
