Jake Neumar Biography

Born in Michigan and raised in Wayne, PA, Jake Neumar is fluent in the art of conveying words through song. Since the age of nine, he has written countless songs that make audiences’ feelings emerge, a unique quality for an artist today. Through high school, Jake couldn’t imagine a life without music, so he made the move to Nashville, TN to study the music industry. “Music to me is so much more than the audio set forward and the image I portray,” Jake muses, “music is how I understand, and the single aspect in which I believe I can be a support to those who may have had just a little too much of life’s circumstances.” When he realized that he wanted to make a career out of music, Jake started connecting with mentors and like-minded individuals. It is the importance of connections that led him to compete in a national songwriting competition in 2012, in which he won the chance to produce a song with Jon Santana in Lakeland, FL. Of course, he took advantage of this and made his first professional recording with his original, “All I See”. In 2014, he aspired to go into the studio to make an entire album showcasing himself as a songwriter. What was planned to be a simple demo tape took a turn and became a fully produced, self-titled album, with the help of friends and family who donated to his Kick Starter campaign. The album, produced by Austin Heller, features the single, “Lookin’ For A Heartbreak,” one of those ‘cruising’ songs that fans enjoy. Sprinkled into this goldmine album are a few gems including the bittersweet ballad, “When September Rains.” “This song is about how sometimes love can be poisoned by memories that lay within our subconscious, we love whom we love because of the times what we’ve shared. Sometimes we love the memory, and not the person,” Jake reflects on the fan-favorite. Jake Neumar and the question “what genre are you, exactly?” are synonymous as of late. Although marketed as a Pop/Singer-Songwriter, Jake hints, “The hardest part about being an artist is sticking to one genre. My love for music is constantly sparking my curiosity to try something new.” Musically speaking, fans may never know where they will find him next, but the most important thing is they know that he cares about them. He has stressed, time and time again, the necessity that his music encourages people to love and embrace who they are. Already sharing the stage and writing with the likes of Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors, Cactus Honey, Kim McClean, and more, Jake Neumar is a bandwagon you’re going to want to jump on early in the game!
