Hailing from the East Anglian and Welsh wildlands, the power-folk 4-piece formed in the darkness of a pandemic winter. Their “startling and shimmering” (Folk Wales) songwriting, blending folk, jazz and musical theatre has has enchanted audiences far and wide. Their live show journeys through their acclaimed debut EP ‘Thread’ (2022) as well as innovative arrangements of traditional folk favourites. From fenland witches to Boudicca and the smoky underbelly of 1905 New Orleans, their intricate music transports audiences on a theatrical dream ride through forgotten worlds and everyday treasures. The band release their ‘Home Safe’ with a video starring dancer and The Place Associate Artist Anders Duckworth in April, 2024. See the night off with a boogie to the sounds of Auntie Maureen. Wise Woman Biography

Hailing from the East Anglian and Welsh wildlands, power-folk four-piece Wise Woman bring a heady collision of lush vocal harmonies, cinematic cello and 90s girl power to their UK Tour.

Formed in the darkness of a pandemic winter, the group’s “startling and shimmering” (Folk Wales) songwriting blend of folk, jazz, and musical theatre sounds, has since seen them enchant audiences as far and wide as BBC Radio 3, Hartlepool Folk Festival and named as one of “the most exciting discoveries” by Tom Robinson’s Fresh on the Net blog.

Their 'Home Safe' tour this Spring 2024 sees them journeying through their own songs, as well as their innovative, arrangements of traditional folk favourites. From fenland witches, to Boudicca, to the smoky underbelly of 1905 New Orleans, their intricate songs transport audiences on a theatrical dream ride, through forgotten worlds and everyday treasures.

Wise Woman are Anna Pool, Lydia Bell, Charlotte Vaughan & Maddie Cutter.
