Bellhead Biography
BELLHEAD has been described as Chicago’s post-punk, goth, industrial, demolition duo. The band consists of High Bass / Lead Vocalist Ivan Russia partnered with Low Bass / Vocalist Karen Righeimer. In just a few short years, Bellhead has become a fan favorite with multiple recordings, remixes by industrial industry classics, and multiple US tours.
The band works with production team audio engineer Neil Strauch (production / technical for Iron and Wine, Counting Crows, Owls) and mastering Carl Saff (production/ technical for Acid Mothers, Temple, Smoking Popes, Red Fang, Guided by Voices, etc), and management team David Schock (Wtii records).
BELLHEAD’s debut release ‘Unicorn Bones’ set them apart from other acts by crossing over fan bases and genres from the post-punk, gothic, industrial, alternative and metal scenes. Since their first release, BELLHEAD has toured with a number of national and international bands, released a second EP, and has been featured in mainstream media outlets as Post-Punk.com, The Deli Magazine’s featured Band of the Month, Divide and Conquer, Bass Magazine, Whitelight/Whiteheat, Breathing the Core, Chicago Music Guide, and Music Eternal’s Band of the Month.
With relentless determination and a growing fanbase, BELLHEAD have been touring non-stop for the past three years. BELLHEAD have shared the stage with renowned acts like Clan of Xymox, Holy Wars, Korine, Then Comes Silence, The Bellwether Syndicate, Night Club, China Crisis, Voltaire, Flaw, Christian Death, and Powerman5000. BELLHEAD’s live performances are known for their high energy, crowd participation and infectious hooks, while leaving the audience craving more.
