About this concert
the On the Rise Program identifies, mentors and provides spotlight & meaningful work opportunities for upcoming musicians. Tonight features Matt Krahula.
Matt Krahula is a multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, and producer who relocated from New York City to Oʻahu in search of inspiration and quickly found that Hawaiʻi was just what he needed. Once on Oʻahu, Krahula landed a spot playing bass and singing with legendary Grammy-Nominated Hawaiian musician Henry Kapono. Since then, Matt splits his time performing as a solo artist, bassist, and studio musician. His quirky brand of Alt-Folk Americana has him performing with Henry Kapono, Tavana, Hook and Line, Seven Pairs of Iron Shoes & Johnny Helm. His work as a studio musician most recently took him to Hollywood, where he was the upright bassist/music consultant on the EMMY Nominated Score for HBO’s Station 11.
