Rudy Gunn Biography

Rudy was born a performer growing up around a family of musicians.

He started singing and performing at the early age of 5 in his home country the Netherlands.

At 13 years of age Rudy and his Canadian born mother relocated back to Canada where he continued singing and performing Country Music Shows, Elvis Tribute shows, and Dutch Music Concerts. Eventually those shows expanded to shows all over Canada, Europe and the USA.

He was the lead singer of a rock band called “One Way Street” as well as a country band called “Grand River Country” from 2006 until 2010 while simultaneously working as a Radio DJ for Corus Entertainment in Kitchener, Ontario. While he was working as a radio announcer he started DJ-ing local clubs which later led to a massive career.

His radio career took off and he relocated to Alberta where he continued playing with various bands and continued his Professional DJ Career as “The World’s Only Cowboy Spinner” performing for fans at festivals, rodeos, and other venues across Canada, Europe and the USA.

Rudy has worked alongside bands such as: Trooper, April Wine, Honeymoon Suite, Nazareth, Aaron Goodvin, Owen Riegling, MacKenzie Leigh Meyer, David Wilcox, Dr. Hook, Bret Michaels (of Poison), Prism, Aaron Pritchett, Julian Austin, Hey Romeo, Foreigner, Shane Yellowbird and many more.

In 2017 Rudy announced he was retiring from being a touring act to focus on personal development.

After a 5-year hiatus he is now back performing as the lead singer and front-man of a modern day 50’s rockabilly group called “The PumpJacks.”

It’s a unique touring act that plays mainly festivals and bigger venues.
They are bringing the old-style music back to life, playing all the songs you hear on the radio today as if they were recorded in the 1950’s.

“This is a passion project that has been in the works for many years and finally has come to fruition.”

He is currently the resident DJ at the Stampede Ranch in Guelph until

“The PumpJacks” kick off their 2023 tour.

Keep an eye on the tour dates to see when Rudy or “The PumpJacks” will be playing in a city near you.
