Raging Sloth Biography
Sinfully slow, an unknown threat creeps out of the shadows. Riffs cut
through the lush fog. Drums that do justice to the german word
'Schlagzeug' break the ground. Deeply tuned bass runs open gates into
distant worlds. Above all the chaos hover lamentations that tell of fever
dreams and dystopias, bundle dark forces and tell never described
stories of hardly imaginable primeval times.
The sound cosmos of the doom & sludge band RAGING SLOTH, founded
in Munich in 2018, captivates with its contrasting frenzy and inertia. The
three musicians Max Horch (vocals, bass), Dennis Hecher (guitar) and
Jonas Rückinger (drums) see themselves in the tradition of the "great old
ones" of the genre. The ominous mixture of heavy, oppressive walls of
sound and frenzied, hard groove riffs is reminiscent of grandmasters like
Y.O.B. or Ufomammut.
RAGING SLOTH used the last few years to perfect and refine their sound,
to hone the musical quotations, but also to find their own expression in
this sound universe.
Shortly after performing at the Keep It Low Festival 2022, RAGING SLOTH
recorded their first EP together with producer Jan Oberg (EARTHSHIP,
GRIN, SLOWSHINE) and mastering engineer Magnus Lindberg (CULT OF
LUNA). The release concert for „The Descent“ together with stoner
legends OREYEON was well received and enabled the trio to share the
stage with heavyweights such as AHAB and Valborg.
For 2024, RAGING SLOTH has lined up a release tour with numerous shows
in and outside of germany.
