The Soul Movers Biography

From The Soul Movers passion for classic R&B to the retro garage and New Wave sounds of the late 1970’s and early 1980’s (think early Blondie, Violent Femmes, B52's etc) just add a gleam off a “Big Rig” grill to the throaty thud of a throbbing bass line and the crazy brother/ sister love for stripped back, shiny rock that thrives in The Soul Moving fraternity... and well, kinda - what's not to dig?

Let's hit the ROAD!! - No stoppin' passing-through-YEAH!!

Led by long-legged front-woman Lizzie Mack, and featuring the legendary OG-Red-Wiggle, Murray Cook, on guitar, The Soul Movers' music takes fans on a ride across a cool musical spectrum of 1960s and 70s Soul, Pop, and rock and roll, making them one of the most entertaining live music acts on the national touring circuit.

Backed by a band oozing with musical talent, The Soul Movers have recorded in both the US and Australia to create four critically acclaimed albums - including their current for ABC Music “Evolution” and brand new EP ‘Not Putting It Down’ - pleasing fans at many of Australia’s most-loved festivals in 2023.

“Murray Cook and Lizzie Mack have forged an alliance so powerful, so fearsomely funky, that The Soul Movers have become one of the most exciting live bands in the land…” Glenn A. Baker - Music Historian, AM.

TSM’s high energy bursts through to deliver a new album which is a tasty collection of surprise and delight”.
