To celebrate the release of her acclaimed debut album 'All Those Things I Thought I Knew', singer-songwriter and producer emzae visits Birmingham's Dead Wax for a headline gig with support from the wonderful Genevieve Miles and Lucy Crisp.
A one-woman pop powerhouse, emzae's live show balances an energy that is both intimate and laced with anecdotes, with songs that transcend the capacity of the venues she loves to call home.
Utilising live samples, looping, captivating vocals and plenty of sparkles to tell the epic story behind a project 6 years in the making and entirely written, produced, mixed and released by herself, this is not one to be missed.

GENEVIEVE MILES:
Genevieve Miles’ funk and dance influences blend with her trademark psychedelic pop elements, creating a sound inspired by the likes of Parcels, Talking Heads and Khruangbin. Described recently by Local and Live as “a true artist of today's generation,” Miles grew up on the folk scene of Oxfordshire before moving to Birmingham in 2018. She began to fine tune her innovative and unique take on alternative-pop. Her previous single ‘Good’, was first launched on a Hyundai advert in June 2022, and accumulated over a million views. Miles’ songwriting and live show continue to grow in maturity, as she begins to openly refuse to adhere to any rules, embracing rock, jazz and reggae influences.

LUCY CRISP:
Lucy Crisp continues to spread her infectious activism with her captivating vocals and charisma. Her highly anticipated debut EP "65 Roses", released in November 2023 and was supported by Youth Music's NextGen Fund. The EP delves into the life of Lucy herself, as she experiences happiness, isolation and foreseen fears, and is the opening chapter to what Lucy describes as "leaving a legacy in this world" by telling her story.

With long-term support from BBC Introducing, singer-songwriter and producer emzae is evolving with each release as she seeks to mould and perfect her unique style of intricate, homemade pop. Her acclaimed live solo set, which sees her triggering samples and playing various instruments, has wowed audiences across the UK, earning her invites to play festival stages and support slots for the likes of LoneLady, Lucy Deakin and Billy Lockett. Her music has been featured on multiple Spotify and Apple Music playlists including New Pop: UK and A-list Pop, and received extensive airplay across BBC radio networks. Most recently, emzae appeared on a panel at Wide Days Festival to champion accessibility at gigs, and featured in an audio documentary called Women Make Music, in which an interview and a specially commissioned track were broadcast during Huw Stephens’ show on BBC 6music.
