Glenn Shorrock Biography

Glenn Barrie Shorrock was born June 30, 1944, in Chatham, England, and found himself relocated 10 years later with his family to South Australia, in the town of Adelaide.

After various success levels in bands around Australia and England, it wasn't truly until pairing up with Graeham Goble and Beeb Birtles that Glenn found superstar success with Australia's first super group... the Little River Band, who sold over 5 MILLION albums from 1978-1992. Glenn Shorrock was inducted into the Australian Recording Industry Association's HALL of FAME in 1991, and as a member of Little River Band in 2004

The first release from the 1977 album "Diamantina Cocktail" (CERTIFIED GOLD) was also their first hit, "Help is On Its Way," and was followed by two more hits, "Happy Anniversary" and "Home on Monday." The next album, "Sleeper Catcher"(CERTIFIED PLATINUM) also produced mega hits for the Aussie band, including "Lady" and "Reminiscing," in 1978. This album release really put LRB on the music maps and opened up doors for other Australian artists. In 1979 LRB released another fine album, "First Under the Wire" (CERTIFIED PLATINUM) which produced the hits "Lonesome Loser" and "Cool Change." By this time, Glenn Shorrock was a well-respected vocalist and songwriter, responsible for many of the LRB hits. 1981 brought the release of "Time Exposure" (CERTIFIED GOLD)which featured hits "Man on Your Mind," "Take it Easy on Me," and "Night Owls."

It was also at this time that Glenn chose to leave the band and produced a solo record, "Villain of the Peace.," which produced the single "Don't Girls Get Lonely." During this time, Glenn stayed in Australia working on television and theatre, as well as a stint as a radio DJ in Sydney in 1984. Glenn rejoined LRB briefly, and was featured on the albums "Monsoon," "Get Lucky," and "Worldwide Love," though none of these hit the successes of the earlier LRB releases. However, Little River Band Greatest Hits was certified Multi-Platinum in July, 1992.

Glenn released his second solo album, "Spin Me 'Round" in 2000, even recording a song by a little known songwriter named Keith Urban. Glenn has also recorded two albums with friend and fellow bandmate Brian Cadd. In 1996 EMI Australia released a compilation CD called "Glenn Shorrock The First 20 Years" which features music from Glenn's former days with LRB, as well as his early works with The Twilights, Axiom, and other Australian artists.

Glenn makes his home today in a Sydney suburb and continues to this day to tour, as well as work in stage productions and with new Australian musical talent.
