Ian Hooper Biography
History
Ian Hooper has been performing on stage since the age of 5 years old. Ian began working in the theatre as a child actor, landing a part in the London West End stage production of the musical Oliver Twist. During this period, Ian began to realise his true talent and great love for music and for composition.
From the age of 13, Ian began to teach himself to play the piano and write songs. The piano/vocal performance of his first composition won him a scholarship to attend the Sylvia Young Theatre School in London. While attending the school, Ian gained valuable experience in the entertainment industry working regularly with professional Theatre and Television productions.
After leaving School, Ian began touring the UK with various theatre productions until a meeting with a music-booking agent led him play his first music gig at a piano bar in Switzerland. Ian has since become one the most popular piano bar entertainers in Europe and Scandinavia.
Development
The craft of song writing has never left Ian’s heart and he has been developing his compositions skills alongside his performance experience over the coarse of many years. This has gained Ian Hooper a great deal of insight into how people react to his music..
After releasing his first 2 singles through Norwegian Label Genc Records / disco Wax: (Sony), Ian will soon be releasing new music through his own Label as an independent Artist.
Side – Writing Projects
In 2010, Ian Hooper teamed up with Norwegian Record producer Mats Koray Genc to write a dance track that would deliver some lyrical depth but would also feel very simple. The song is called “Music Is Everything” (Toni Peret feat.Ian Hooper) and was released in Spain on a mix compilation in 2011. The single release of the song reached the Top 40 dance charts in Spain and stayed in the top 40 Dance charts in Finland for over 6 weeks in 2011. Ian Hooper’s vocal is featured on the Master.
