About this concert
The Janet Paulsen Trio will be providing the music for ballrooom dancing. Types of dances include the Slow Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, Quickstep, Viennese Waltz, Rumba, Bachata, Cha-Cha, Samba, Mambo, Swing/Jive and more. Janet Paulsen Biography
Janet Paulsen has been singing her whole life. Growing up in Johnstown, Pennsylvania she sang in church and was often asked to sing at weddings and charity events. She received a scholarship to Carnegie Mellon University and began her formal training in opera. She then went on to perform with a variety of opera companies in New England and the Midwest.
A job relocation landed Janet, her husband Bill, and their daughter Laura in California. Janet explored a different music genre by becoming lead singer in a nine-piece rhythm and blues band. When the family moved to Baltimore, her love of tennis led to a ten-year stint as the General Manager of Green Spring Racquet Club.
During the pandemic Janet realized how much she missed singing and she began exploring songs from the Great American Songbook. Her dream is to create an ambiance of Cocktail Chic Music for the Baltimore area. Janet and her husband live in Lutherville, Maryland with their Yorkie, Peanut.
