Allison Adams Tucker Biography

"RETRO Trilogy" - a mod jazz retrospective on 3 decades of iconic music. 3 EPs in 1 Album: "1977", "1988”, "1999", RETRO Trilogy The Album.

"World jazz with urbane cool"
4 stars, DownBeat Magazine — "Powerful singer"
JazzTimes — "Light and buoyant, her voice is remarkably fresh, its purity underscored by considerable depth and sagely shaded hues”
LondonJazzNews — "Marvellous articulation, great tonal accuracy, and dynamic drive"
The Examiner — "Lustrous in any language. A vocalist who clarifies every note within a hair's breath."

World jazz with urbane cool. Growing up in SoCal on the border with Mexico, Allison’s love for languages and world cultures started early. This wanderlust has inspired the music she sings today. Music is the universal language, and Allison is all about the human connection through music.

Allison's debut album "Come With Me" (Allegato Music 2008) received international acclaim and was nominated for Best Jazz Album 2009 by the San Diego Music Awards.

Allison's sophomore album "April in Paris" (Allegato Music 2014) celebrating songs of springtime from around the world, was recorded in Paris on UNESCO's 1st Annual International Jazz Day ending a Europe tour with international musicians from five countries.

Allison's third album "WANDERlust" (Origin Records 2016) was recorded in New York City and features a stunning all-star band. The songs are musical postcards from distant points of interest, from Rio to Rome, Paris to Kyoto, and destinations outside of time and space.

Allison returned to NYC to revisit her folk-pop-punk past with the recording of her fourth album RETRO Trilogy: jazz re-imaginings of Gen X-Y-Z - 3 decades of music from the 1970s, 80s, 90s, by David Bowie, Queen, The Cure, Sting, Prince and more - 18 songs to be rolled out in 3 EPs across streaming platforms (“1977”, “1988”, “1999”), and then released as one album. Four music videos also released in tandem with the music. (Allegato Music 2023)

Allison's voice can be heard on TV commercials and on the video game "The Saboteur" soundtrack singing French jazz in the company of Nina Simone, Ella Fitzgerald, Madeleine Peyroux, & others.

Allison has entertained audiences in Japan, Europe, Mexico, and the US, including performances at the Blue Note New York, Ronnie Scott's London, Herb Alpert's Vibrato Los Angeles, San Jose Jazz Fest, The Jazz Kitchen Indianapolis, Idyllwild Jazz in the Pines Festival, East Hawai’i Jazz & Blues Festival, Takatsuki Jazz Street Festival Osaka, Body & Soul Tokyo, Le Baiser Sale' Paris, Music Inn Rome, Lucca Jazz Donna Festival Tuscany, among others.
