About this concert

The Rosine Barn Jamboree: Live Music. Dancing. Bluegrass History. On the National Register of Historic Places, the Rosine Barn offers live bluegrass music & dancing every Friday night. It was selected as “one of the 52 Places to Visit in 2016” by the New York Times. Mountain Highway will perform a 90-minute set from 7:30-9pm CT during an evening of entertainment that gets underway at 6 pm with an open mic and two sets by other bands. There is no charge to attend.

Mountain Highway Biography

With a style all their own, Mountain Highway is a musical family group performing bluegrass, country, and gospel music originally made famous by icons like Bill Monroe, the Carter Family, Ralph Stanley, and a few outliers like the Eagles and Linda Ronstadt. Two sisters and a family friend play banjo, guitar, and mandolin as they sing three-part harmony, while the sisters’ dad plays an electric upright bass.

Performing weekly as the host band for The Smoky Mountain Bluegrass Review at The Memories Theater in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, Mountain Highway also travels extensively to play at popular venues from New York to Texas. The group’s professional endorsements include Deering Banjos, GHS Strings, and Shubb Capos.
