j.dee bolden Biography

j.dee, a sultry, funky, smooth, phenomenal soprano saxophonist is on the
move. A natural born writer, producer, and arranger, j.dee has worked with
the great Grover Washington, Jr., Lalah Hathaway, Doc Powell, James
Brown, Cherrelle, War, and Steve Oliver, just to name a few. His influences
are Grover Washington, Jr., Ronnie Laws, Sly Stone, James Brown, and
Herbie Hancock.
j.dee doesn’t stop there. He teamed up with Jeff Kashiwa (The
Rippingtons) and Damian Dane (formerly LaFace Records), and helped
create a body of work called “Natural Progressions” that was released on
Palo Alto/TBA Records. The success of the “Natural Progressions” album
opened many doors and created awesome opportunities to produce music
for Gerald Busby at Motown Records and Clarence Avant’s Tabu Records.
j.dee moved into the film industry writing the theme song and several
tunes for the motion picture, “Original Gangstas”, and hooked up with the
Third Stone Records and produced the hit song, “12-15-22-5 (LOVE)”,
which was placed in the film, “Losing Isaiah”.
In 2007, from producer to artist, j.dee released his first CD, “Tippin’ On
The Edge Of Funk”. This eclectic mix of Funk, Jazz, R&B fused with Latin
Rhythms, took his listening audience by storm! Tracks like “Kickin’ High”,
Rainy Night In Tokyo” and Esta Noche”, j.dee knew that he was ready for
greatness!
Since then, j.dee has released other works such as “Smoove On The
Move” with his version of Stevie Wonder’s “Don’t You Worry Bout A
Thang” and his original “It’s On And Crackin’” and “Another Mellow Night”
with favorites like the title track, “Another Mellow Night” and Jimi Hendrix’s
“Little Wing”. All this showcases j.dee’s versatility and range in various
genres.
He is currently working on another CD. Just like the others, this one will
come with the guarantee that you’ll want to keep it in your “favorite
playlist”. While you are waiting for its release, check out the calendar tab
to see where you can catch him in a live performance. You’ll be glad you
did.
There is no limit to what j.dee can create. He has a gift that he is ready,
willing and able to share with the world!!!
