Known for their explosive energy and worldly melodies, the band was formed in 2013 by violinist Bennet Cerven and has since become renown in the international world folk scene. Their shows are packed full of surprises, known to feature international guest performers, adding to the energetic worldly sounds at the heart of their repertoire. They have toured extensively in Europe and North America. They have performed on Television in the USA, Europe, Japan and Brazil. Self-described as 'Speed Folk', their fast, powerful rhythms and joyful Celtic melodies have become their trademark over the years, wrapped together in pagan poetry with a strong message of freedom and joy. The music of PerKelt blends together a rhythmic synergy of drums and guitars, signature duels between fiddle and recorder, haunting pagan vocals, and the deep ethnic sound of didgeridoo. The band draws their inspiration from paganism of all kinds, with their songs often telling stories from magic, nature and traditional medieval folk tales.
