About this concert
DATE Thursday July 18, 2024! FREE - The one man show "A Story and a Song '' is about life as a child in the mountains of eastern Tennessee... the grandson of a convicted moonshiner. Growing up, I often listened to the extended Carter Family play in an Aunt's front yard. My mission, however, is to be respectful of that form while being active in the evolution of regional music. The soundscape of "A Story and a Song" is modern electric folk music layered with my personal memoir. Mostly, it's a journey into the heritage of my people and who we honestly are.
It's been described as, "... Leonard Cohen dunked in a barrel of Tennessee Whiskey"
