Lukas Wigington Biography

Lukas Wigington is a singer/songwriter based in Rogers, Arkansas. Prior to playing guitar at age 9, Lukas was building his musical influences listening to the radio and cassette tapes of Garth Brooks, Toby Keith, Alan Jackson, George Strait, and many others. Lukas began guitar lessons with Bob Percival, one of the best known instructors in Northwest Arkansas, then started playing talent showcases and competitions shortly after. Most of Lukas’s encouragement came from his mom and grandparents, especially his grandfather, Vance, who would sit and listen to him for hours with video camera in hand, always recording the newest song he learned.

Lukas began writing in his early teens, but no influence has been greater in his songwriting than Rick Garoutte. Lukas and Rick met in 2007 and have been co-writers and close friends since. Lukas writes consistently and performs almost as much.

Over his career, Lukas has played with great local artists such as Madison Watkins, Kaylin Cripps, and Ashlyn Metheny, playing on the same bill as artists such as Tim McGraw, Brantley Gilbert, Montgomery Gentry, Joe Diffie, Keith Anderson, local favorite Barrett Baber, and others. Lukas has been showcased as lead guitarist and vocalist for the bands he has performed in, but loves to perform his own choice of music as a solo musician, and with his full band.

“I’ve always thought that the most important thing in performing is giving 100% every night you’re on stage. Whether you’re playing for 5 people or 5,000 people, you can change someone’s life with a song, so play for those who need to hear what you're saying.”
