Act109 Biography

Act109 is a Pop-Punk/Emo band known for their action-packed, high energy performances around the Baltimore area. Full of catchy riffs, anthemic choruses, and emotional lyrics, their music is sure to evoke powerful feelings in any listener. Taking inspiration from bands like Blink-182, Alkaline Trio, A Day To Remember, Brand New, Sum 41, and much more, Act109 blends aspects from around the Pop-Punk and Emo scene to form a progressive, yet nostalgic sound.

Act109 took shape in the midst of 2019 as frontman, Zach Stairs, met drummer, Camden Walters, and former lead singer, Gray Hansel, in high school. The trio crafted a, now retired, record and floor-up EP during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Hansel parted ways with the band and they would meet their newest addition, CJ Polesovsky. Initially on bass, the trio played several underground shows in the DMV and began to find their footing. During one of these shows, Elle Saulsbury from the local Post-Hardcore group, Heartbent, was asked to step in on bass and Polesovsky would switch to guitar.

Behind the Scenes, the band began development of their first polished music. After meeting Eric Taft of Buzzlounge Studios, their ideas came to life with his production of their first studio single, How's That Sound. Shortly after the release of that song, the group decided to part ways with Saulsbury and added current bassist, Matt Bressler, to the mix. Since then, the group has started to hit their stride without plans of stopping
