Martin Mullady Biography

Martin Mullady is an emerging Scottish rock solo artist, hailing from the Stirling area. This is his first solo venture, having previously released singles, EP's and albums with previous bands such as Built On Tradition, and having played the length and breadth of the UK in some of its most iconic venues, his debut solo venture sees the start of a whole new chapter.
Heavily influenced by rock artists such as Foo Fighters, Stereophonics and Guns n Roses, his sound is a beautiful and chaotic mix of loud, hard-hitting drums, catchy vocal hooks, melodic guitar lines and a generous helping of good old-fashioned guitar-driven rock and roll. Couple this with loud, energetic live performances that will leave you singing along for weeks. Mullady has headlined shows with previous bands at Liverpool's Cavern Club and Glasgow's King Tut's. He has also performed at the likes of Manchester Club Academy, Barrowlands 2, Glasgow's 02 Academy 2 and Oran Mor. He has taken to the stage at festivals such as International Pop Overthrow, held at the Cavern Club; Manchester Printworks; Limetree Festival and Scribblers Picnic.

2022 saw the start of a relentless release schedule which has seen three brand new singles with the fourth ‘Take Me In’ set for release on 22nd July. His debut solo offering came in the form of the new single Moving On, which was released on all major digital distribution platforms on 28/1/22. Described by Mullady as being “a cross between the Foo Fighters and Stereophonics, but with guitar solos”, the debut single is a raucous example of his loud, electric, hard-hitting guitar playing. The eagerly anticipated follow up came in the form of How Long. This track picks up where we left off for a blistering ride through the world of a sound that blends anthemic vocals, powerful and melodic guitar work, set on top of a backbone of hard-hitting drums. With elements of Mullady's signature mix of big sing-along chorus' and intricate guitar work found throughout. Mullady released his third single of the year with the exciting and incredibly catchy Little Changes. The song is a retrospective look back in time to his youth, where a party lifestyle can and often quickly gets out of control. It addresses the unfortunately all too common issues of addiction among Scotland's youth, insisting however that with some little changes along the way, people can and often do become their own saving grace.
The fourth offering of 2022 comes in the form of Take Me In, which showcases the heavier side of Mullady’s sound with massive guitars and a driving rhythm that crosses the divide between the guitar-driven pop rock sound of his releases to date and a heavier sound including synths and slide guitars. Inspired by country artists like Jacob Bryant, this single follows in the footsteps of the first three and carries on Mullady's signature sound with its memorable lines, sing along chorus' and raw guitar tone. A sound that has been missing from the world of popular music for some time, Mullady is bringing back the guitars in a world where they seem to have been forgotten. With multiple releases still to come in '22, live dates including Vibration Festival at Callander Park in September and a hometown headline show at the Oakwood, Sauchie in November, the stage is set for an incredibly exciting debut year as a solo artist.
