About this concert
Hailing from the East Anglian and Welsh wildlands, power-folk four-piece Wise Woman bring a heady collision of lush vocal harmonies, cinematic cello and 90s girl power to their UK tour.
Formed in the darkness of a pandemic winter, the group’s “startling and shimmering” (Folk Wales) songwriting blend of folk, jazz, and musical theatre sounds, has since seen them enchant audiences as far and wide as BBC Radio 3, Hartlepool Folk Festival and St Pancras Old Church.
This show sees them journeying through their own songs, as well as their innovative, arrangements of traditional folk favourites. From fenland witches, to Boudicca, to the smoky underbelly of 1905 New Orleans, their intricate songs transport audiences on a theatrical dream ride, through forgotten worlds and everyday treasures.
Wise Woman are Anna Pool, Lydia Bell, Charlotte Vaughan & Maddie Cutter.
