About this concert
Lauren Bush brings her Tide Rises Tour to Guildford, The Electric Theatre, with her quartet.
“A…powerfully voiced…singer….quietly intense, deeply thoughtful and communicative”
London Jazz News
Canadian expat Lauren Bush relocated to London to pursue music on a new level a decade ago. Prior to that she had travelled extensively around North America notching up some impressive performance credits, including opening shows for Maynard Ferguson, performing at the Victoria International Jazz Festival (BC) and singing with Bobby McFerrin at the Idaho Jazz Festival. Following her move to the UK she released her debut album, 'All My Treasures' and was a Top 5 Finalist in the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition. Today Lauren will be performing a fascinating collection of well-and-lesser-known Jazz standards, as she says "there will be songs from the past….but don't worry, there's always a heart-wrenching favourite thrown in for good measure!". Sounds fun.
"Lauren Bush has an easy on-stage manner and presence [with]….versatility and range. A…powerfully voiced…singer….quietly intense, deeply thoughtful and communicative" LondonJazzNews

Lauren Bush Biography
Known for her charming delivery of a lyric and her impeccable time, 2016 Sarah Vaughan Vocal Competition finalist, Lauren Bush is making a name for herself in the UK and Europe.
Her debut album, All My Treasures, comprised of carefully selected, favourite jazz standards (and a few curveballs!), was produced by jazz luminary Ian Shaw. With quirky and refreshing arrangements, Lauren is able to show off her versatility and improvisation skills.
Originally from Canada, Lauren toured around the US, opening for Maynard Ferguson in 2006 and had started to develop a name for herself in British Columbia, performing at the Victoria Jazz Festival in 2010 before relocating to the UK 7 years ago. Since then, she's been developing her reputation across Europe, touring extensively around Italy and the UK. Notable achievements include the Sarah Vaughan Competition, being a finalist in the 2015 Riga Jazz Stage and most proudly, her "Collection of Canadian Jazz" concert at the 2017 London Jazz Festival.
"When I started playing All My Treasures, I couldn't stop listening."
