About this Event
Freshly launched, The Drop In exists to create diverse experiences that cultivate resilience and build joy. The goal of everything we do? To leave people and places better than we found them.
Our first public offering is the launch of the Happier Hour series, which will always be a mix of a few things – most notably, movement and music. While each installment will be unique in its offering, the series overall will be rooted in community and human connection to help combat the global epidemic of loneliness and lack of belonging, and the drive to cultivate more feelings of joy and hope. Happier Hours brings together some of our favorite people and ideas, and offers an in-person experience rooted in movement, laughter, song, and learning.
The first event will include a performance by singer/songwriter/spoken word artist Mary Lambert followed by a 50-minute FORWARD__Space sweat session led by renowned choreographer, artistic director, entrepreneur, master teacher, and dancer Kristin Sudeikis. No previous fitness or dance experience is necessary and all fitness levels are welcomed to participate!
So why did we pick mid-January for the first Happier Hours? Deemed the most depressing month of the year, the middle Monday of the month has been dubbed ‘Blue Monday’ because of annual skyrocketing suicide rates. Purposely fueling this time of year with positive energy and actionable tools to manage its challenges seemed like the perfect timing.
Teaming up with FORWARD__Space, Mary Lambert, and Born This Way Foundation to plan an evening of movement, music, mental health, and human connection we invite you to drop in for an evening rooted in collaboration, connection, and joy.
