This will be Sarah’s third visit to this lovely little arts centre in the former Passmore Edwards Free Library, one of a number of institutions opened in Queen Victoria’s Jubilee Year. The building was re-opened as a performance and community space in 2018. Under intoBodmin’s flexible pricing scheme you can choose to pay £10, £12, £15 or more.
“One of the most instantly recognisable voices in current music.” —Neil March, Trust The Doc
Sarah McQuaid’s lush, chocolatey voice combines with her engaging personality, “subtle mastery onstage” (Huffington Post) and “brilliant musicianship” (fRoots) on acoustic and electric guitars, piano and (occasionally) drum to create a truly immersive experience.
Born in Spain, raised in Chicago, holding dual Irish and American citizenship and now settled in rural England, she brings the eclecticism of her background to her “captivating, unorthodox songwriting” (PopMatters) and choice of material, spanning genres and defying categorisation.
All this is abundantly demonstrated by her new live album and video series The St Buryan Sessions — but needs to be savoured in person to be fully appreciated.

Sarah's voice and presentation leave one in a rare place of inner calm. One cannot help but be drawn into her stories and songs.
Her interpretation of Les Feuilles Mortes (Autumn Leaves), breathed new life into a once popular song being lost to time.
She has a very unique style, reminiscent of Joan Baez, Marianne Faithful, and Janis Joplin with a cutting-edge modern delivery, and her own unique musical signature delivery. Her use of electronic loop technology was minimal, yet mesmerizing.
