About this concert
Bringing Arts and Entertainment to Downtown The California has hosted bands of all genres and is an intimate place to hear your favorites. Please show support for the Road Dog Revue on their first show of 2024 and debut at The California. Doors open one hour before the start of the event, and general seats are first-come-first-serve. Randy McDonald, celebrated as the veteran bassist of Tommy Castro & The Painkillers, marked an incredible 30-year journey with the band. Last year, they achieved six nominations and clinched three prestigious awards at the 43rd Blues Music Awards in Memphis. Now, Randy steps to the forefront with his new venture, ROAD DOG REVUE. Teaming up with exceptional musicians, the band delivers an electrifying mix of original compositions and timeless covers, guaranteed to get you moving. Drawing from Randy's solo recording, "On The Wildside," the group explores diverse genres like R&B, 50's Rock'n'Roll, Tex-Mex Border Rock, Swing, and a touch of Jazz and Boogie. As a major contributor to Tommy's music, Randy has been a driving force since the band's inception. As Philip Elwood (San Francisco Examiner) once noted, "Randy McDonald creates intricate bass lines that weave through the tunes, and he can take the lead on raucous R&B and original songs." REGULAR BAND MEMBERS: Anthony Paule - Guitar and vocal Guitarist, band leader Of Anthony Paule Soul Orchestra and music producer Kevin Hayes - Drums drummer & songwriter, 20-year years as the drummer for The Robert Cray Band. Michael Emerson - Keyboards long-time bandmate with Tommy Castro and the Painkillers, master teacher, and music producer. Building on the legacy of Santa Rosa’s original vaudeville California Theatre (1923-77), The California opened in September, 2022 with the goal of offering a variety of cultural activities, including live music, comedy, theater, dance, lectures, classes and more in the heart of downtown Santa Rosa. The new event venue, which has flexible bar and cabaret-style seating, is home of resident theater companies Left Edge Theatre and Young Actors Studio (previously in residence at the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts from 2015 to 2022). Buy online & save $__! For events with a dance floor, seating is limited: Advance tickets guarantee entry, but not necessarily a chair. Members have access to a number of reserved Member-Only seats up until the start of the event. Contact the box office if you have a mobility need or other specific seating accommodation requirement.
