About this concert
The Hank Williams Tribute Show is an annual country, honky-tonk, swingin’, extravaganza of musical friends collaborating to bring to life classic songs from the real roots of country music. Grammy® Award winners Cathy Fink & Marcy Marxer host the evening with Robin & Linda Williams, Jake Blount and Daryl Davis. With Patrick McAvinue on fiddle and Alex Lacquement on bass, you’ve got a show that’s sure to have you “honky tonkin’, honey baby!’ Hank Williams was a consummate and prolific songwriter, with hits that included “I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry,” “Your Cheatin’ Heart,” “Lovesick Blues,” and “Jambalaya.” He died at the age of 29, on New Year’s Day in 1953, leaving behind an unforgettable legacy of songs and performances. Hank Williams’ brief career epitomized the country song. This popular show brings together an all-star cast of friends who get together just once a year to celebrate The Father of Country and Western Music! Artist Bios Cathy Fink & Marcy Marxer are known for their tight vocal harmonies and stellar instrumentation on guitar, banjo, and mandolin. They are winners of 2 Grammy® Awards, over 60 Wammie Awards, and 14 Grammy® nominations. Billboard Magazine calls them “as close to flawless folk/bluegrass as it gets.” The duo’s recent recordings include “SHOUT AND SHINE” and “WAHOO!” This is their 25th year hosting the show and their second at Creative Alliance. Robin & Linda Williams – From The Grand Ole Opry to Austin City Limits, Music City Tonight to Mountain Stage, Robin & Linda never cease to wow audiences wherever they go. Their 40+ year career has so far netted 24 albums and thousands of accolades along the way. Their brand new album, “A Better Day A-Coming” has climbed the folk charts this fall. Garrison Keillor says, “individually their voices can melt cheese, and in duet, they can do all-purpose welding.” Patrick McAvinue – International Bluegrass Music Association Fiddler of the Year, Patrick leads the new generation of hot fiddlers with exquisite taste and versatility. Now a member of the United States Navy Band “Country Current,” he has performed with bluegrass supergroup Dailey & Vincent, fiddle favorite on the Grand Ole Opry, and has become an in-demand studio musician. He’s also a founding member of Baltimore band, Charm City Junction. His album “Perfect Fit” topped the Billboard Bluegrass charts upon its release in 2019.
