About this concert
Montpelier Arts Center, located at 9652 Muirkirk Rd, Laurel, MD 20708, welcomes The Kennedys in concert as part of their "Headwinds" album release tour.
Saturday, May 4, 2024, 8:00pm
The Kennedys are vocalists/guitarists Pete and Maura Kennedy. A husband-and-wife duo, they set out on the road together in the early 90s as members of Nanci Griffith's Blue
Moon Orchestra, and since striking out on their own, they have traveled the U.S., Canada, and Europe for three decades as a two-person band. Higher energy than a folk act, but not
as loud as a rock band, they mix passionate songwriting with a flair for entertainment and a repertoire of classic songs. Think of a song by Buddy Holly, the Everly Brothers, or the
Beatles, and that smile on your face is the same smile you'll be wearing when The Kennedys hit the stage.

Hello fello Music Fans
We drove from Savannah GA to see the Kennedys in person for the first time
We went with daughters family, and brothers family to a small venue-Live at Teds
Maura and Pete Kennedy were beyond all expextaions.
Pete is the most amazing guitarist/ musician I have ever witnessed in person.
Maura, song writer, guitar player/singer is better in person than even her videos.
Their original music is exceptional. The cover songs wonderfully done!
After a susbstanial career- their newest music album is one of their best.
We will travel to see them again whenever reasonable.
Maura and Pete
Thank you for a wonderful evening

The Kennedys Biography
“I arrived at The Kennedys show in the foulest of moods….Two hours later, I didn’t want to be anywhere else….I could not have found a better antidote.” - Jim Daniels, Elmore Magazine, November 2016
In a career that now spans two decades, New York duo Maura and Pete Kennedy have traversed a broad musical landscape, surveying power pop, acoustic songwriting, organic rock rooted in their early days in Austin, and a Byrds-inspired jangle that drew the attention of McGuinn, Steve Earle, and most notably Nanci Griffith. The duo co-produced Nanci’s latest CD, and are currently touring the US and the British Isles with the Texas songstress.
